Unusual press photograph of Rosa Parks, dressed in a floral blouse and without her glasses on, smiling at the camera. The caption, dated August 22, 1964, reads, in full: "She Set a Precedent. -- This is Mrs. Rosa Parks, now of Detroit, who, on Dec. 1, 1955, refused to move to the back of a bus in Montgomery, Ala. From the Negro woman's defiant stand sprung the roots of the nonviolent civil rights action across the nation."
