Poster documenting the 1987 National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, "Out and Outraged: Love, Life & Liberation", at which between 650 and 850 activists were arrested on the Supreme Court steps on October 13. The demonstration was the second-largest act of civil disobedience in U.S. history, spurred in large part by government inaction regarding the AIDS pandemic. It was photographed by renowned feminist photographer and filmmaker JEB (Joan E. Biren), whose work has focused on the LGBTQ+ community since the 1970s.
