Photograph of what appears to be a celebration of the repeal of prohibition at a warehouse in New York City, taken by photographer Cosmo-Sileo Studio; Cosmo-Sileo is best known for its portraits of Yankees teams in the 1920s and '30s. At the center of the image is a smiling woman in a fur coat standing on a wooden platform or loading dock, pouring a glass of wine while, below, a crowd of men reach for the glass. Another woman leans out over the crowd with a bottle in hand to fill an upraised glass, and a small crowd of well-dressed men and women surround these two women, many drinking and smiling. Notably, the crowd is celebrating with California Italian Swiss Colony Tipo-brand white wine.
