Levy's debut novel, drawing heavily and convincingly on his experience as an amateur automobile racer. The novel follows Buddy Palumbo, a New Jersey mechanic who becomes involved in automobile racing during the sport's halcyon days of the 1950s. It is the first in a series of books Levy wrote about the subject.
