The Cycling West Publishing Co. Typed Letter Signed. January 25, 1897.
Denver, CO: The Cycling West Publishing Co., 1897. Approx. 6-1/4" x 8-1/2". Letterhead half-sheet, text and printing to recto only. Fold lines, slight crease to upper corner. Very good. Very Good.
TLs addressed to N. N Hill Brass Co., East Hampton, Connecticut, acknowledging receipt of a letter on the 19th and assuring the reader that "we take pleasure in giving publication to item regarding your factories, which will appear in our issue of Jan 28th. Electrotype will be returned to your office as soon as possible." The letter is signed by The Cycling West Publishing Co.'s business manager, G. A. Wahlgreen.
The letterhead is lovely, featuring a cowboy riding a bicycle across the plains, lassoing a cow.
According to an add in Spalding's Official Bicycle Guide of 1899, The Cycling West had "the largest circulation of any class or trade weekly west of Chicago" and was the "official organ for the California associated cycling clubs, reaching their entire membership weekly."
