Boston: Lee and Shepard Publishers, 1894. Fourth edition. 9 x 6 inches. 163,[5, publisher's ads]pp + frontispiece. Brown cloth stamped in gilt. Light bumping and wear to spine ends and corners; small bump to fore-edge of both boards; light damp stain to head of text block and faintly to upper margin of most leaves; light soiling and creasing to several of the "suggestion" leaves; woman's ownership name and address to front endpaper, dated 1895. A work squarely in the New Thought tradition, arguing that "IDEAL SUGGESTION is the photographing of pure and perfect ideals directly upon the mind through the medium of the sense of sight. It is voluntary, and free from any admixture of personality or imperfection." The book was quite popular, as at least 12 editions were issued between 1893 and 1900.
