Act I First Chorus from Divine Comedy.

Regular price $125.00 $0.00

Oak Park, Illinois: Jubilee Press, 1993. Limited edition. Approximately 4-3/4" x 11-3/4". Broadside. Grey handmade abaca paper from the Root River Mill in Racine, Wisconsin, roughly the shape of the United States, printed in black. Fine.

One of 100 copies of this bleak chorus from African American poet, novelist and playwright Owen Dodson's Divine Comedy "first produced at the Yale University Theatre in February 1983. This February the words are still true." These words may be a reference to the February 26, 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured over 1,000. At the time, it was the deadliest terror attack on American soil.

Jubilee Press was founded by reknowned African American printer, book maker and papermaker Amos Kennedy, who now operates Kennedy Press in Gordo, Alabama.

OCLC notes two holdings, at the University of Utah and the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
