An illustrated history of the ILGWU from its founding in 1900 to the present, stressing the national and international reach of the organization, its welcoming of all regardless of race or creed, its achievements in wages and working conditions, its strong and fit workers, and its place of importance in the then over 2 billion dollar a year women's clothing industry. Includes images of New York slums, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire and its victims, union-busting efforts, pro- and anti-union political cartoons, women strikers, garment workers (mostly women) at work and at play, the Puerto Rican branch of the union, etc.
